Lapps
Arctic Scandinavian people
Lapps is an older term for the Sami people, the indigenous inhabitants of northern Scandinavia and the Kola Peninsula.
The term is now considered outdated and somewhat offensive; Sami is the preferred name.
The Lapps have herded reindeer for centuries reflects older usage still found in historical texts.
