duodji
Duodji is the traditional handicraft of the Sámi people of northern Scandinavia and Russia.
It encompasses functional objects made from materials like reindeer hide, bone, antler, and wood—knives, clothing, drums, jewelry.
The practice carries cultural and spiritual significance beyond mere craft: She learned duodji from her grandmother.
The term distinguishes indigenous Sámi artisanship from generic Nordic folk craft.
