Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Northwestern Pakistani region

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a province in northwestern Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan.

Formerly called the North-West Frontier Province, it was renamed in 2010 to reflect its Pashtun majority population.

The region includes the Khyber Pass, historically a major route between South and Central Asia.

The earthquake devastated parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
