Indus River
Civilization's ancient cradle
The Indus River is a major waterway flowing through South Asia, rising in Tibet and running through Pakistan to the Arabian Sea.
One of the world's great rivers, it gave its name to India and the Indian subcontinent, though most of its length now lies in Pakistan.
The Indus Valley was home to one of humanity's earliest urban civilizations.
