Japanese beetle

Coppery lawn destroyer

Japanese beetle is a destructive insect pest, metallic green with copper-brown wing covers, native to Japan but now widespread in North America.

The adults feed on foliage, flowers, and fruit of hundreds of plant species, skeletonizing leaves.

The larvae (grubs) damage lawns by eating grass roots.

The roses were covered with Japanese beetles.
