Iftar

Ramadan evening feast

Iftar is the evening meal that breaks the daily fast during Ramadan.

Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset, then gather at iftar to eat together: We're hosting iftar for the whole family tonight.

The meal traditionally begins with dates and water, following the practice of the Prophet Muhammad.
