Hopi

Mesa-dwelling people

Hopi refers to a Native American people indigenous to northeastern Arizona, where they have lived for over a thousand years in pueblo villages on and around three mesas.

The word also denotes their language, part of the Uto-Aztecan family.

Hopi culture is known for kachina figures, intricate pottery, and agricultural traditions adapted to the high desert: Hopi farmers have cultivated corn in this arid landscape for centuries.
