Holy Temple

Consecrated worship place

The Holy Temple refers to the ancient Jewish temple in Jerusalem, particularly the First Temple built by Solomon and the Second Temple destroyed by Romans in 70 CE.

It was considered God's dwelling place on earth and the center of Jewish worship.

In broader religious use, holy temple describes any sacred place of worship, or metaphorically, the human body as a vessel for the divine: Your body is a holy temple.
