Greek yoghurt

Creamy fermented dairy

Greek yoghurt is yoghurt that has been strained to remove most of its whey, producing a thicker, creamier texture and higher protein content than regular yoghurt.

The straining process also gives it a tangier taste.

Despite the name, strained yoghurt appears in cuisines throughout the Middle East and Mediterranean.

Also spelled Greek yogurt.
