Flatbush
Historic Brooklyn district
Flatbush is a neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York, one of the borough's oldest and most diverse areas.
Originally a Dutch colonial settlement, it became synonymous with Brooklyn itself in the mid-20th century—the Brooklyn Dodgers played at Ebbets Field in Flatbush, and the accent of its working-class residents typified the classic Brooklyn voice: He's from Flatbush.
