An Emirati is a citizen of the United Arab Emirates, the federation of seven emirates on the Arabian Peninsula.
As an adjective, Emirati describes things relating to the UAE or its people: Emirati cuisine, Emirati traditions.
Emiratis are a minority in their own country, vastly outnumbered by expatriate workers, which gives the term particular significance in discussions of national identity and citizenship rights.
