Edelweiss

Alpine bloom song

Edelweiss is a small alpine flower with white woolly petals, native to the mountains of Europe.

The plant grows in rocky, high-altitude terrain and has become a symbol of the Alps and of rugged alpine beauty.

Its name comes from German words meaning "noble white." The flower gained wider recognition through the song in *The Sound of Music*.
