Degrassi
Toronto school drama
Degrassi is a Canadian television franchise spanning several series since 1979, following students through the dramas of adolescence.
The shows are known for tackling serious issues—teen pregnancy, addiction, abuse, sexuality—with unusual frankness.
The name has become shorthand for melodramatic teen storylines: This party is turning into an episode of Degrassi.
