Gossip Girl is an American television series (2007–2012, revived 2021–2023) following wealthy teenagers on Manhattan's Upper East Side, narrated by an anonymous blogger who exposes their secrets.
The phrase now describes anyone who spreads rumors about others' private lives: She's the Gossip Girl of our friend group.
The show popularized a particular aesthetic of prep school privilege and Manhattan glamour.
