Burt Bacharach

Burt Bacharach was an American composer and songwriter whose sophisticated pop compositions dominated the 1960s and 70s.

Working primarily with lyricist Hal David, he crafted hits for Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, and others: Walk On By, I Say a Little Prayer, Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head.

His style—complex harmonies, unexpected time signatures, lush orchestration—became synonymous with easy listening at its most elegant.
