Broca's aphasia

Labored, halting speech

Broca's aphasia is a language disorder caused by damage to the brain's left frontal lobe, typically from stroke.

People with this condition understand speech but struggle to produce it—their words come out halting, effortful, and telegraphic, often missing small grammatical words: Want... coffee... morning.

Also called expressive aphasia or non-fluent aphasia.
