Bazooka

Shoulder-fired projectile weapon

A bazooka is a portable rocket launcher, originally a U.S. military weapon from World War II—a tube fired from the shoulder that launches explosive projectiles at tanks and fortifications.

The name came from a crude musical instrument played by comedian Bob Burns, which the weapon resembled.

Bazooka extends to anything tube-shaped and powerful: bazooka-style water gun.

Bazooka is also a brand of bubble gum.
