Baltic States
Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius
The Baltic States are Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania—three countries on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea.
The term gained currency after World War I when all three gained independence, and again after 1991 when they broke from the Soviet Union.
The Baltic States were the first Soviet republics to declare independence.
