B-sides
Singles' lesser halves
B-sides are the secondary tracks on a vinyl single, originally pressed on the flip side of the record.
The A-side was the promoted hit; the B-side was filler, an experiment, or a track the label didn't believe in.
Some B-sides became hits themselves.
The term now applies to any bonus or lesser-known tracks: The deluxe edition includes demos and B-sides.
