hidden tracks
Unlisted album extras
Hidden tracks are bonus songs concealed on an album, typically appearing after silence following the final listed track, or sometimes buried before the first track.
They reward listeners who let the album play through or rewind past the beginning.
The practice peaked during the CD era: I discovered a hidden track ten minutes after the album supposedly ended.
Digital music has made them largely obsolete.
