acoustic versions

Acoustic versions are recordings or performances of songs stripped down to unplugged instruments—typically acoustic guitar, piano, or simple percussion—rather than the electric or heavily produced arrangements of the original.
Artists release acoustic versions to showcase vocal ability or give familiar songs a more intimate feel: I prefer the acoustic version of that track.
The format became popular through MTV Unplugged and remains a staple of live sessions and bonus releases.
