zebus

Asian draft cattle

Zebus are a type of domestic cattle native to South Asia, distinguished by a prominent fatty hump over the shoulders and a large dewlap.

They tolerate heat and drought better than European cattle breeds and are widely raised in tropical regions: Zebus grazed in the dusty field.

Also called Brahman cattle in North America.
