wormcast

Earthworm's digestive output

A wormcast is the small mound of soil or mud expelled by an earthworm after passing through its digestive system.

These coiled or granular deposits appear on lawns, gardens, and fishing grounds, marking where worms have been active beneath the surface: The lawn was dotted with fresh wormcasts after the rain.
