wolfer
Canine predator hunter
A wolfer is a person who hunts wolves, especially one who did so professionally in the American West during the 19th century.
Wolfers typically poisoned carcasses to kill wolves for bounties or pelts: The wolfers left strychnine-laced buffalo meat across the prairie.
The term is largely historical.
