white-out

Snow blindness conditions

White-out has two main senses.

The first is a weather condition where blowing snow or overcast light eliminates contrast between surfaces and sky, making navigation dangerous: The climbers waited out the white-out in their tents.

The second is correction fluid used to cover typing or writing errors, from the brand name Wite-Out: She dabbed white-out over the mistake.

As a verb, to white out is to obscure or obliterate with white.
