web serial
Episodic internet story
A web serial is a long-form story published online in sequential installments, typically on a dedicated website or platform rather than in print.
Unlike traditional serialized novels, web serials often run for years with regular updates—weekly or even daily chapters.
The format allows direct reader interaction and has produced works rivaling novels in length: I've been following this web serial for three years and it's over a million words.
The genre skews toward fantasy, science fiction, and litRPG.
