web app
Online program accessed
A web app is software that runs in a web browser rather than being installed on your device.
Unlike traditional applications that you download, web apps are accessed through a URL and function entirely online—email clients, social media platforms, and document editors like Google Docs are common examples.
The term is often shortened from web application and contrasts with native apps designed for specific operating systems.
I use a web app to track my expenses instead of downloading software.
