weather model
Predicts future conditions
A weather model is a computer simulation that uses mathematical equations and atmospheric data to predict future weather conditions.
Meteorologists run multiple models—the European, the American GFS, various hurricane models—and compare their outputs when forecasting.
The models disagree on where the storm will make landfall.
Model in this sense means a simplified representation of a complex system.
