watchmen
Property security personnel
Watchmen is the plural of watchman—people employed to guard a building, property, or area, especially at night.
The role predates modern police and security systems: The watchmen patrolled the factory grounds.
Night watchmen still guard warehouses, construction sites, and other properties after hours. (Capitalized Watchmen is the graphic novel or its adaptations.)
