warm currents
Tropical ocean movement
Warm currents are flows of ocean water that carry heat from tropical regions toward the poles.
The Gulf Stream is the most famous example, moving warm water from the Caribbean along the eastern United States and across to Europe, moderating climates along its path.
Warm currents keep Britain milder than its latitude would suggest.
