Benguela Current
African coastal flow
The Benguela Current is a cold ocean current flowing northward along the southwestern coast of Africa, from the Cape of Good Hope toward Angola.
Like other cold currents along continental west coasts, it creates cool, foggy conditions onshore and supports rich marine ecosystems through upwelling of nutrient-dense deep water.
