Prearranged sales contact
A warm call is a sales contact made to someone with whom there's already some connection—a referral, a previous meeting, or prior correspondence.
It contrasts with a cold call, where the salesperson reaches out to a complete stranger.
The existing relationship, however slight, makes the recipient more likely to engage: It's not exactly a cold call—we met at the conference, so it's more of a warm call.
