ward round
Hospital patient visits
A ward round is when a doctor or team of medical staff moves through a hospital ward, stopping at each patient's bed to review their condition, discuss treatment, and make decisions about care.
The term is standard in British medical practice: The consultant leads the ward round every morning.
In American hospitals, similar activities are often called simply "rounds."
