uplinks
Ground-to-orbit signals
Uplinks are communication channels that transmit signals from ground level up to satellites or aircraft.
The term contrasts with downlinks, which carry signals in the opposite direction.
As a verb, to uplink is to send data or broadcasts via such a channel: The crew uplinked the footage to the satellite for live broadcast.
