unseaming
Splitting along stitches
Unseaming is ripping open along a seam—literally tearing stitched fabric apart, or figuratively splitting something from end to end.
The word appears most famously in Shakespeare's *Macbeth*, where a warrior "unseamed him from the nave to the chops"—cut him open from navel to jaw.
Outside literary contexts, the word is rare.
