undoing
Cause of ruin
Undoing is the act of reversing or unraveling something—unfastening what was fastened, canceling what was done.
More commonly, undoing refers to a cause of ruin or downfall: His gambling was his undoing.
In this sense, the undoing is whatever leads to someone's destruction or failure: Overconfidence proved to be the company's undoing.
