unity government
Cross-party ruling alliance
A unity government is a coalition in which rival political parties—often ones that would normally oppose each other—share power, typically formed during a national crisis or emergency.
The arrangement prioritizes collective action over partisan competition: Israel formed a unity government after the October attacks.
Also called a government of national unity.
