underleaf
Bottom of foliage
The underside or lower surface of a leaf, typically paler or differently textured than the upper surface.
In botany, the underleaf often bears distinguishing features like fine hairs or waxy coatings: The underleaf showed silvery scales not visible from above.
The term also applies to small leaflike structures on the undersides of certain liverworts.
