twitch chat
Live viewer messages
Twitch chat is the live text conversation running alongside streams on the Twitch platform, where viewers comment in real time.
The format—thousands of messages scrolling past rapidly—has spawned its own culture of emotes, copypastas, and spam.
Twitch chat often refers to the collective behavior of these participants, usually implying chaos, groupthink, or absurdity: Twitch chat is unhinged tonight.
