triracial
Three ethnic backgrounds
Triracial describes a person or community with ancestry from three distinct racial groups.
The term appears most often in discussions of certain American communities—particularly in the Southeast—whose members descend from European, African, and Native American ancestors: triracial isolates, triracial heritage.
The word is primarily used in anthropological and genealogical contexts.
