tin toy
Metallic child's amusement
A tin toy is a toy made from tinplate—thin sheet metal coated with tin.
Mass-produced from the mid-1800s through the mid-1900s, tin toys were often brightly lithographed and featured mechanical wind-up movements: The antique tin toy robot sold for hundreds at auction.
They've become collectibles, largely replaced by plastic in modern manufacturing.
