wind-up car
Key-powered miniature vehicle
A wind-up car is a toy vehicle powered by a coiled spring mechanism.
You turn a key or wheel to tighten the spring, then release it to make the car move forward on its own: The wind-up car zipped across the kitchen floor.
The term extends to any small mechanical toy using the same principle.
