animated figure
Cartoon's drawn protagonist
An animated figure is a statue, puppet, or model designed to move, typically through mechanical or electronic means.
Theme parks feature animated figures of pirates and presidents.
Holiday displays use them for Santa Claus and reindeer.
The term also applies to characters in stop-motion animation: The animated figures were painstakingly posed for each frame.
