terraformer

Planetary environment engineer

A terraformer is a person, organization, or device that transforms a planet or moon to make it habitable for Earth life—adjusting atmosphere, temperature, and surface conditions.

The term belongs primarily to science fiction, where terraformers are colonizers reshaping alien worlds: The terraformers spent generations greening Mars.

By extension, anyone dramatically reshaping an environment might be called a terraformer.
