drone swarms
Synchronized unmanned aircraft
Drone swarms are coordinated groups of unmanned aerial vehicles operating together, often autonomously.
Unlike individual drones controlled by separate pilots, swarms use algorithms to move as a unit—adjusting to each other's positions, sharing information, and responding collectively to their environment.
The concept appears in military applications, where swarms might overwhelm defenses through sheer numbers, and in civilian spectacles like synchronized light shows: The drone swarm formed a giant American flag over the stadium.
