tangencies
Where curves meet
Tangencies is the plural of tangency, which refers to the state or point of touching.
In geometry, tangency describes where a line or curve meets another curve at exactly one point without crossing it: The architect calculated the tangencies where the arches met the ceiling.
More broadly, tangency suggests brief or superficial contact: Their lives had only tangencies, never true intersection.
