take care

Casual parting wish

Take care is a parting phrase wishing someone well, equivalent to goodbye but warmer: Take care, see you next week.

More literally, it means to exercise caution or attend to something: Take care not to slip on the ice.

To take care of something is to handle it: I'll take care of the bill.

Taking care of a person can mean looking after them or, in criminal slang, killing them.
