watch out
Danger lies ahead
Watch out is a warning to be alert to danger or difficulty.
It can be a sharp imperative—Watch out! —alerting someone to immediate threat, or a gentler caution about potential problems: Watch out for ice on the roads.
To watch out for someone can also mean to look after them: My older brother always watched out for me.
