tag up
Await the catch
Tag up is a baseball term for a baserunner's action of touching their current base after a fly ball is caught, which allows them to then advance to the next base.
Runners must wait on the base until the fielder catches the ball: He tagged up and scored from third on the sacrifice fly.
The strategy creates dramatic moments when runners race against outfielders' throws.
