guerrilla art
Unauthorized public creativity
Guerrilla art is artwork created in public spaces without official permission—murals on buildings, sculptures in parks, interventions on billboards.
The term borrows from guerrilla warfare's emphasis on surprise and unconventional tactics.
Unlike vandalism, the intent is aesthetic or political statement rather than destruction: Someone did guerrilla art on that abandoned warehouse.
Banksy's stenciled pieces are the most famous examples.
